English 9 - Portfolio
Your final portfolio should showcase your creativity, hard work, and improvement over the semester.
It is due MAY 8th. Portfolios that are one day late will receive half credit. Portfolios that are more than one day late will not be accepted. Follow the directions below to organize your portfolio.
Your portfolio should be contained in a three-ring binder with a clear outer sleeve in which you can insert a cover. The cover should state your name, date, and class (English 10H). Inside your binder you should have a “table of contents” page. Please have a cover sheet to separate each different section. Your binder should include artistic touches.
Your portfolio should contain the following works in the following order (from beginning to end):
- "Reading" cover sheet
- Vocabulary word project
- book log
- list of independent reading books and authors
- dialectical notebook for Thoreau
- list of literary elements covered
- Great Gatsby journal
- notes/outline from poetry project
- "Writing" cover sheet
- Emerson quote essay (in-class writing)
- M.L. King essay
- Great Gatsby essay
- research essay
- timed writing on "A Rose for Emily"
- list of essay corrections (from each of the above essays)
- "Reflections" cover sheet
- self-reflection sheet
- parent reflection sheet (to be completed after you've finished putting this together
